This fantastic chest dating to around circa 1650, the oak panel displays exceptional hand-carved decoration featuring carvings of mythical animals surrounded by growing stylised plants, this is thought to be an ode to the expeditions that took place during the Elizabethan era, when exotic plants, new foods, and more were being discovered by explorers, this chest is a nice useful size being only 92cms long, having a hinged top and two lower drawers both with amazing carved fronts, with tight hand carved dovetailed joints, and two secret drawers hidden in the rear of the drawers, this piece of furniture is very practical and could be used at the bottom of a bed, to mount a tv, or in a hall or porch, giving loads of needed storage as well as a place to hide your valuables, the dimensions are 92cms wide 58cms deep standing 61cms tall, I am happy to deliver locally for a small fee, or arrange a courier nationally
