
This is a gorgeous solid oak quarter sawn banjo barometer, having a porcelain dial sat behind a bevelled edged glass, with Thermometer Gauge Above A Circular Dial, mounted in a polished brass bezel with a centre reading marker, also having a porcelain thermometer scale above with mercury action thermometer, with fabulous hand carved decoration to the top and bottom of the quarter sawn solid oak casing, Victorian oak aneroid barometer, the signed 20cms eight inch porcelain dial, Stokes and Watson, 6 Market Street, Manchester were in business from the 1860's until the early 20th century, they were typical opticians of the period and made and sold a variety of instruments including microscopes, microscope slides, lantern slides, camera lenses, gramophone cylinder recordings, binoculars, barometers, and eyeglasses, the dimensions are 28cms wide standing 90cms tall, I am happy to deliver locally for a small fee, or arrange a courier nationally
