A stunning antique Edwardian mahogany display cabinet dating from circa 1890–1910, with an exceptionally elegant design and superb quality throughout.
This impressive cabinet benefits from fine satinwood inlaid marquetry and satinwood cross banding, beautifully complementing the rich mahogany. The upper edges are finely carved and lead to a wonderfully moulded cornice, while the glazed door features an impressive carved frieze, adding considerable character and decorative appeal.
The cabinet retains its original lock and key, with glazed sides allowing additional light into the interior and providing an excellent view of the contents from multiple angles. Inside, the cabinet is lined with its original fabric, which remains in good overall condition.
We have recently had the cabinet professionally re-polished, leaving it in excellent overall condition for its age, with the beautiful colour and figuring of the mahogany brought back to life.
A particularly versatile and impressive piece of antique furniture, equally at home displaying China, glassware, books or objects d'art.
