An exceptional late Victorian Sheraton-style glazed sewing table, dating to circa 1890, crafted in richly figured rosewood with fine decorative string inlay throughout. The elegant rectangular top is fitted with a turned lifting handle and two sloping glazed lids with bevelled cut glass, a delightful and practical feature typical of high-quality Victorian sewing furniture. Beneath, the shaped and subtly carved frieze enhances the table’s refined architectural form. The table stands on four square, tapering, splayed legs, each beautifully inlaid, united by a lower inlaid shelf which mirrors the frieze design of the upper section, providing both structural harmony and useful storage. A superb example of 19th-century craftsmanship, combining elegance, functionality, and originality, this sewing table would make a striking addition to a period interior, collector’s cabinet, or refined dressing room. The dimensions are 43cms wide, 34cmss deep, standing 81cms tall, I am happy to deliver locally for a small fee, or arrange a courier nationally, please feel free to visit our new showroom in Bretherton, or website https://theoldcornmill.co.uk/ 541
